Terms of service

These terms cover Nascent's online service: accounts, leaderboards, profiles, replays and this website. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them and to the privacy policy.

Your account

  • You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
  • Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
  • Usernames can't be offensive, impersonate someone else or advertise. We may rename or remove accounts that break this rule.
  • Use one account. Alternate accounts used to get around a restriction or to manipulate leaderboards will be removed.

Fair play

Leaderboards only mean something if everyone plays fairly. Don't:

  • use modified game builds, bots, macros or anything else that plays for you or changes how plays are judged,
  • submit replays you didn't play yourself, or alter replays or results,
  • attack, overload or try to break into the service.

We review suspicious plays. We may reject plays, reset scores, or restrict or remove accounts that break these rules. If you think we got it wrong, open an issue on GitHub.

Charts, songs and replays

  • Charts and songs belong to their creators. Only upload or share content you have the right to.
  • When you submit a play, you let us store it and show it, including its replay, on leaderboards, profiles and this website.
  • If you believe content here infringes your rights, contact us and we'll take a look.

Open source

The game and server are open source under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. You can find the source code on GitHub.

The service

  • Nascent is a free hobby project, provided as is, without warranties of any kind.
  • We may change, pause or shut down the service, and we may recalculate or reset difficulty ratings, performance and leaderboards.
  • To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for any loss that comes from using the service.

Changes

If these terms change, we'll update this page and the date at the top. Continuing to use the service means you accept the new terms.
